It’s no secret that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift are close friends with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany.
The two couples have been spotted together out in public several times, Swift and Brittany have sat together several times in their suites at Chiefs games, and it’s been reported that the Mahomes wanted Swift and Kelce to be the godparents of their recently born third child, Golden.
Given how close the couples are, news that they’ve been keeping their distance from one another would certainly pique the interest of many Chiefs fans.
That’s exactly what’s happened, according to a new report from the Daily Mail that implies the “personal crisis” Swift is currently navigating, which includes being dragged into the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni lawsuit, the custody battle of Jaime King’s son, who’s also Swift’s godson, and all of the backlash that’s come from her very public romance with Kelce, has affected other parts of her life.
“Swift is gripped in the maw of a stubborn and worsening personal crisis,” the Daily Mail reported. “And she’s fighting fires on multiple fronts. Last week, the Daily Mail exclusively reported that the superstar, 35, was ‘in hiding’, holed up with Kelce and cutting contact with many of her closest friends.”

Swift and Kelce fled the country after the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9 to take an overseas vacation. Kelce was also wrestling with a decision about whether or not to retire or come back for his 13th NFL season.
The couple had been advised by those close to them to lay low and let all of the public backlash from the month’s events die down, which has reportedly involved not being around the Mahomes family.
“[Swift and Kelce] aren’t hanging out with Patrick and Brittany right now,” a source told the Daily Mail. “The two couples aren’t avoiding each other because of any tension, they just have other priorities right now. Travis and Taylor will get their friend and family fix in no time, but right now it’s all about the relationship.”
Swift and Kelce, who recently won an iHeartRadio Music Award for Favorite Surprise Guest for his appearance at “The Eras Tour” last year, are reportedly vacationing in Big Sky, Montana this week at a ski resort.
