Novak Djokovic has been the benchmark of men’s tennis for at least 15 years, revolutionizing the concept of longevity at the highest level along with his two eternal rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

The Serbian legend has had fewer injuries than the Spaniard and the Swiss in the latter part of his career, which is why he has broken every record and is still able to compete for the most prestigious titles at almost 38 years old.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has never been satisfied with his talent alone, but has enhanced it and continued to improve every aspect with almost maniacal dedication. The former world No.1 developed new weapons even after he passed the age of 30, and this attitude allowed him to beat even opponents much younger than him.

Panichi on Djokovic and Sinner

Well-known fitness coach Marco Panichi has had the opportunity to work with Nole for several years, while he now works with world No. 1 Jannik Sinner. Panichi joined the Italian ace’s team after the latter was forced to fire Umberto Ferrara and Giacomo Naldi because of the doping case.

On the latest edition of the ‘Tressessanta’ podcast hosted by Virginia Gambardella, Marco revealed what a legend like Djokovic and a young champion like Sinner have in common: “Nole loves tennis madly and is focused on that for 24 hours a day. Jannik is the same, although they have two very different personalities.

Sinner is also very competitive during practice sessions and likes to take care of every little detail, but at the same time he has fun. Great champions never stop having fun playing tennis.
If there is no pleasure in competing, it is very hard.”

Many fans and insiders believe Sinner is a true heir to Djokovic, having some very similar skills to the 24-time Grand Slam champion. The current No. 1 admitted that he is flattered by such a comparison, having no fear of living with the pressure.
