Dallas Cowboys pass-rushing linebacker Micah Parsons is the big contract domino that fans want to see fall with the All-Pro currently in talks for a new deal.
With said contract thought to make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, many are thinking that when Micah does put pen to paper, the Cowboys will then be hamstrung in terms of player acquisition with cap space.
However, fear not, my friends, because we have the inside word that it might not be the back-breaking deal some think it will be.
Micah’s brother, Terrence, spoke exclusively with our own Mike Fisher, gave some details on what Parsons’ contract with the Cowboys looks like.
“It’ll be team-friendly, and team-friendly doesn’t always mean he doesn’t get a lot of money,” Terrence said. “We all know it could be team-friendly with the years. I think it’ll be team-friendly, at least five years.”

At least five years is rather interesting, and we have seen Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes do a 10-year deal, so maybe Micah’s will be something similar.

So Parsons could be getting the $40+ million APY many have projected, but due to Terrence’s proposed contract length, it might not be the salary cap-debilitating contract some think it will be.
That surely is music to Cowboy Nation’s ears, and as far as Dallas dragging its feet in negotiations, Terrence stated that the front office is “doing what they’re supposed to” in contract talks.
So, Terrence is very positive about his brother’s Cowboys contract, and now we wait to see the outcome of perhaps the most intently watched negotiation in recent memory.
But all signs are pointing to a team-friendly deal for the Cowboys.
