If we are reading the tea leaves right and following the bread crumbs, there are only a few routes the Dallas Cowboys will go down in the first round of the draft, and both are on the offensive side of the ball.
With running back being a pressing need despite Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams being signed in free agency, along with a receiver to play behind CeeDee Lamb as a genuine No. 2 option, the Cowboys know where their weaknesses are.
The NFL Draft is fast approaching, which means mock drafts are flying around everywhere with publications thinking they have narrowed it down to which player teams will take and where.
For Pro Football Focus, when looking at all the mock drafts, the player the Cowboys are linked with the most is Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
“McMillan has All-Pro potential because of his length, athleticism and football intelligence,” Pro Football Focus writes. “He’s a smooth criminal of a receiver who was the focal point of Arizona’s offense. He is a unique talent who deserves to be considered in the top 10 of the 2025 NFL Draft.”

Seen as one of the best receivers in the class, McMillan and the Cowboys do make sense, but it is just a question of whether he is still on the board at No. 12 when Dallas pick.
Coming off a season with 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns, McMillan, who is a 6’ 4’’, 219lb beast, will be a matchup nightmare for defenses and when we add in his superb ball skills and ability to win contested catches, Dak Prescott could have some fun with “Tet” in the Cowboys offense.
Dallas lacks a physical receiver, but it gets one in McMillan. His size will give the offense an advantage whenever he is on the field, but perhaps more importantly, his presence will shift some of the focus off Lamb.
The Cowboys need receiver help, and in McMillan, via the draft, they get the best possible help.
