NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Inter Miami star Lionel Messi recently linked up for a FIFA World Cup event sponsored by Adidas in Los Angeles. Sure enough, the moment sparked excitement among fans, with the wife of the Kansas City Chiefs star, Brittany Mahomes, even reacting to it.
On Tuesday, Patrick Mahomes took to Instagram to share two photos from the event, writing in the caption, “World Cup Kick-Off with @adidas.” One of the photos showed him and Messi standing alongside the World Cup trophy, while the other showed the Chiefs signal-caller speaking while Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden was on the platform with him.
For her part, Brittany Mahomes commented on the post from her husband. However, she did not write anything. Instead, she simply put four fire emojis to highlight how hyped she is.
Both Patrick Mahomes and Lionel Messi are Adidas athletes, so it’s not surprising to see them collaborate for an event. Mahomes joined the brand in 2017, while Messi has been partners with the sports apparel giant since 2006.
With the 2026 World Cup set to come to the United States, fans can probably expect to see both Mahomes and Messi attend more FIFA-related events to promote the competition in the future.
