Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL and already one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
He has won three Super Bowls and has played in five before turning 30. He is still 29 and doesn’t turn 30 until September 17.
Mahomes finished the 2024 season with 3,928 yards through the air, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He brought the Chiefs within one win of winning their third consecutive Super Bowl before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles, 40-22.
Before getting to the NFL and college, Mahomes played football for his high school, and his mom, Randi, admitted that there was a time during his high school career when he almost quit the sport.

“There were times when he would get a little down, even a moment in high school when he wanted to quit football,” Randi Mahomes said, via FOX News. “Yes, he did. And I encouraged him that sitting out a season of sports and watching the games, was not going to be fun for him. And so, he stuck to it, fortunately.”
NFL fans on social media had some reactions to this.
“Patrick Mahomes almost gave up on football, but look at him now,” one fan tweeted.
“Aye, and look at him now—talk about a glow-up! Sometimes the best decisions are the ones you nearly don’t make,” another fan tweeted.
“The big story of the day,” another tweet read.
Mahomes stuck with the sport and is quite thankful that he did since he has already had a tremendous NFL career.
His quest to win his fourth Super Bowl will begin in September when the 2025 NFL regular season starts.
