Miami Dolphins superstar offensive tackle Terron Armstead has decided to call it quits after a spectacular 12-year career.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Terron Armstead is retiring ahead of his 34th birthday. Armstead spent the last three seasons of his career in South Beach after spending his first nine years with the Saints.

A 2013 third-round pick of the Saints (75th overall), Armstead earned five Pro Bowl selections and a 2018 Second-team All-Pro selection. He spent the bulk of his career protecting Drew Brees’ blindside before taking on the same role for Tua Tagovailoa in South Beach.

Unfortunately, injuries largely hampered Terron Armstead throughout his excellent career. He never played more than 15 games in a season, missing at least six games in six of his 12 NFL seasons.

Armstead missed four games in 2022, seven in 2023 and two in 2024. But he was instrumental in Miami’s mini resurgence under head coach Mike McDaniel, helping the ‘Phins to consecutive postseason appearances in 2023 and 2024.

He also played a giant role in the Saints’ resurgence during the final years of the Drew Brees era, helping New Orleans to four straight NFC South division crowns from 2017 to 2020. The Saints went as far as the 2018 NFC Championship Game, where they fell to the Los Angeles Rams in a controversial ending (the NOLA No-Call game).
