Texas Star’s Two-Word Message After Meeting Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones
The Dallas Cowboys have the opportunity to make a big splash in the 2025 NFL Draft, as they currently hold the No. 12 pick, meaning there will still be a lot of good players available.
The team has been very busy weighing their options, which has meant bringing in a large assortment of players for pre-draft visits to get a more personal look at.
One big name they’ve hosted is Texas Longhorns wide receiver Matthew Golden, who visited the Cowboys’ facility on Thursday.
During the visit, Golden got to meet owner and general manager Jerry Jones, whom he posted a photo on his Instagram story with while writing “Dat man.”
Of course, Golden ending up with the Cowboys is a very realistic option, as ESPN’s big board lists the Texas product as the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 25 player available in the draft.
Jones, who has been the team’s GM since 1989, has not shied away from picking wide receivers in the first round, with the most recent being CeeDee Lamb in 2020, who they took with the No. 17 pick.

With Lamb having firm control as the team’s top target, if Jones did select Golden, he could come in and challenge Jalen Tolbert, who in 2024 had 49 receptions, 610 yards and seven touchdowns as the team’s No. 2 option.
