The Miami Heat’s start to the season has been interesting. They are not a million miles away in the East, as they hold a 6-7 record right now. Only four teams in the Eastern Conference have a winning record at the moment.
That being said, as things settle in, the Heat will need to improve over the course of the season. One issue they have faced is their inability to compete with genuine contenders.
For the time being, it looks like the Heat are ready to stick with their roster but sooner or later, they might need to make a few changes.
One player whose future in Miami has to be in doubt is Terry Rozier. The hope was that he would improve this time around. Instead, his production and efficiency have gone down.
One prominent Heat fan account has suggested the idea of making a trade move for Zach LaVine, believing that a backcourt of him and Tyler Herro would be unstoppable. The deal would also involve Rozier and Duncan Robinson.
Robinson is a decent contributor for the team but the Heat might have enough depth to replace him.
When it comes to LaVine, he is having a tremendous season. After an injury-riddled 23-24 campaign, he is now proving that he remains one of the most dynamic scorers in the league.
On the other hand, Herro has finally made the leap that Miami fans have been waiting for for years. He is averaging 24.2 points while shooting 45.2% from three-point range. He has been the Heat’s best player by a considerable distance so far this season and is performing at an All-Star level.
Of course, there would be plenty of question marks defensively when it comes to a backcourt of Herro and LaVine. But if there is one coach in the league who might be capable of finding a solution, it would be Erik Spoelstra.
