There aren’t many sporting events better than the Masters Tournament, which is currently unfolding for the 89th time in Augusta, Georgia. The tournament began on Thursday and will run through Sunday, capturing the attention of the sports world—as it does every year around this time.
The Masters also draws in a host of celebrities, all eager to watch the world’s best golfers compete for the coveted green jacket on one of the most prestigious and historic courses in the world.
Just on Thursday, the ESPN broadcast at Augusta National featured an interview with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold, who attended the event with Buffalo Bills QB and close friend Josh Allen, actor Miles Teller, and former NBA star Richard “Rip” Hamilton, among others.
Social media never misses a beat when it comes to resurfacing viral content, and on Friday, DraftKings capitalized by posting a throwback video from 2024 of Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce hitting the links with a “Happy Gilmore” swing.
“Someone let Travis Kelce hit a shot at the Masters,” DraftKings posted.

The reference to Adam Sandler’s iconic golf movie “Happy Gilmore” comes full circle, as “Happy Gilmore 2″ is set to be released on Netflix on July 25, and Kelce has several cameos in the movie as he’s drifted into the acting world over the last few years.
Back on Aug. 28, golf fans reacted to Kelce’s video when Golf.com posted it on their X account.
“Travis Kelce hitting Happy Gilmore bombs,” Golf.com’s caption read.
“Smoked it!” A fan said.
“Kelce piping drives and listening to Morgan Wallen.,” Another fan posted.
One more fan commented, “not sure @ShooterMcGavin_ is going to think to highly of this charade.”
