‘Slim’ Dak Confirms Lie In Dumbest Cowboys Rumor of Offseason

FRISCO – We told you it wasn’t true.

And now Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is confirming our scoop that crushed the hoax that insisted he’d lost 30 or even 50 pounds during rehab after suffering a torn hamstring in Week 8 of the 2024 season.

The Pro Bowl QB has taken his rehab very seriously.

But an internet troll has spread the word that Dak has lost 30 pounds.

And then a teammate is made fun of that with an obvious joke … that Dak’s has lost weight to the tune of losing 50 pounds.

Prescott hosted another throwing session with his Cowboys receivers where tight end Jake Ferguson posted a video of Dak’s “slim” and “young” physique.

Dak reposted Ferguson’s video saying, “Slimothy, that’s me.”

Something wasn’t right. So we checked in with the Cowboys at the start of the week and we got to the bottom of it.

At different times in his career, Prescott has measured in at 6-2 … and sometimes at as much as 238 pounds and sometimes at as light as 229. Indeed, at one point last year, 229 was the number.

As we wrote and reported…

“Dak’s weigh-in number at this moment, according to a source here inside The Star, is 226. So … as of today, he’s lost 3 pounds. Not 30. Three.

“He’s fit. He’s in shape. He’s maybe even ‘slim.’ But Prescott has not lost an extraodinary amount of weight so he can ‘Be like Lamar Jackson,’ as one report said.

“It’s all fake.”

And now Dak is acknowledging the veracity of our report, telling reporters on Friday night at the Children’s Cancer Fund event in Dallas that he’s “about the same.”

“I haven’t really lost any weight,” he said. “I’m about the same. … Weight’s just moved. I might be leaner up top, but the weight’s the same.

In the few clips we’ve seen of Dak since he has begun throwing and moving again, it’s clear he is “fit.”

And Cowboys Nation can hope Prescott playing at 226 allows for more athleticism and mobility outside the pocket. But the trolling – which ignored the fact that Prescott weighed 220 pounds as a high school senior and ignored the fact that being below 190 pounds now is an absolute joke – can now stop.

Dak’s massive yearly salary of $60 million brings pressure on the QB to perform. But unfortunately, it also brings foolishness on the part of some in Cowboys Nation.
