The NFL hopes to have the 2025 schedule finalized in mid-May.
While the Steelers’ opponents have been known for a while now, the actual schedule of when Pittsburgh will play those opponents remains to be determined.
Now we know.
The NFL’s vice president of broadcast planning appeared on the It’s Always Gameday in Buffalo podcast and gave the tentative dates of May 13, 14 or 15 for a schedule release date.
“No set date because, really, you never know,” he said (via John Breech of CBS Sports). “If by some miracle, we’re done on May 7 and we present one to the boss [Roger Goodell] and the commissioner says, ‘Hey, this is perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing, guys.’ We’re done. Pencils down. If so, probably no reason to sit on it.”
The Steelers will play their regular games against AFC North opponents, including home and away tilts against the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.
Pittsburgh will see home games against the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks..
The Steelers will see away games against the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, New England Patriots and New York Jets.
The only things we do know about the 2025 schedule is that the Eagles will open the new season on Sept. 4 and the Los Angeles Chargers will begin their season in São Paulo, Brazil on Sept. 5.
The Steelers have been tabbed to play the NFL’s first game in Ireland in 2025.
Dublin will host Ireland’s first NFL regular-season game, and it will feature the Steelers at historic Croke Park.
The last time the Steelers played overseas was in 2013 when Pittsburgh lost to the Vikings 34-27 at Wembley Stadium in London.
The opposing team has not yet been announced, but Pittsburgh will play as the home team, meaning instead of nine home games at Acrisure Stadium in 2025, there will be only eight.
Dublin will join Madrid and Berlin as a first-time host next season as the NFL expands it’s footprint globally.
The league also announced it will play a game in 2026 at the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
