Dodgers’ Brusdar Graterol Posts Exciting Video Regarding Recovery From Injury

In November of 2024, Brusdar Graterol underwent surgery to repair a labrum issue.

The timetable for his eventual return has been somewhat up in the air. A report this past February indicated that Graterol was aiming to be back for postseason play.

As L.A.’s bullpen has missed Graterol, Evan Phillips, and Michael Kopech to begin the 2025 season, fans have been wondering as to whether the man they call ‘Bazooka’ will be back on the mound.

Taking to social media, he offered a positive glimpse into his recovery process:

As the clip shows, a slimmed-down Graterol is seen enthusiastically working out in an outdoor gym — alternating between lifting plates and plyometric exercises. It’s not a total surprise to see Graterol working fervently to get back to the mound.

Graterol is one of the more well-liked players on the team. Not only is he visibly emotional when pitching, but he’s also considered by many to be the most athletic player on the team in terms of pure explosiveness.

He’s also gained the trust of Dave Roberts in countless situations. Since making his first playoff appearance with the Dodgers in 2020 as a 21-year-old, Graterol has notched a 1.85 ERA in 25 games. Over this period, he’s allowed only 15 hits in 24.1 innings. For good measure, Graterol has given up zero home runs in postseason.

Look no further than last year, where Graterol barely played due to a combination of issues with his hamstring and shoulder. Even then, the Dodgers had enough faith in him to put Graterol on the World Series roster.

Against the Yankees, he made three appearances in five games. He had logged only 7.1 innings during the regular season leading up to that point. Without a doubt, it truly illustrates how much he means to this ball club.

As Graterol continues to ramp up his recovery, there’s really no need to rush him back into action. As is the case with virtually every other pitcher working their way back, the Dodgers will be cautious in integrating Graterol into the mix until he’s fully healthy.
