As the Major League Baseball offseason gets underway and free agency heats up, the Juan Soto sweepstakes is still at the top of the list.

Soto has drawn interest from many teams including the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays.

With the top free agent on the market being in talks with so many teams, all eyes and ears have been on the situation.

According to ESPN’s MLB Insider Buster Olney, the latest update on the Soto sweepstakes includes teams that are expected to start forwarding offers this week.

Olney describes that teams have just been meeting with Soto thus far to get to know him better with no offers being submitted yet.

The offers are expected to start coming in this week as things heat up in the battle to sign the star outfielder.

While a lot of people are saying that Soto will most likely either sign with the Yankees or Mets, there is always the chance of a dark horse team swooping in and making a deal with him.

Soto earned his way to being the top free agent by batting .288 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs, and a .989 OPS in his first season with the Yankees.

The Yankees will likely try everything they can to bring Soto back, but some speculation includes Mets owner Steve Cohen flexing his money and outbidding every other team.

It will be interesting to see how this thing plays out and who ends up signing the all-star outfielder.
