SHOCKING: Surprising White Sox Stat Has Fans Angered

The narrative around how bad the Chicago White Sox were in 2024 has been repeated endlessly, as the worst team in modern MLB history with holes littered throughout the roster.

The expectation was the White Sox would show signs of life in 2025 with a determination to be better than last year, but so far, the team has had the same issues as 2024.

How bad has it really been, though? One tweet from a frustrated White Sox fan has people talking.

The tweet shows that the White Sox lineup has a lower collective batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS than their historically bad 2024 team. The White Sox would finish with 125 losses at this current pace, breaking their own record from last year.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) responded to Cuda’s tweet with their frustration.

“truly admire your dedication to exposing how bad the team is run and in general,” one user wrote.

“Can’t believe I saw this team win in person yesterday,” another fan sarcastically wrote.

Despite a valiant start by the rotation that saw Sean Burke, Davis Martin, Jonathan Cannon, Martin Perez and top prospect Shane Smith combine for 28 straight scoreless innings to open the season, the White Sox lineup remains mired in struggle.

Andrew Benintendi, one of the lone bright spots in the White Sox lineup, was placed on the 10-day injured list on April 10 with a left adductor strain, while Korey Lee and Mike Tauchman also hit the IL that same day.

Trade rumors around Luis Robert Jr continue to swirl, with many predicting trades to contenders like the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers who are in need of outfield help.

At the current rate, calls for owner Jerry Reinsdorf to sell the team will only get louder, as the White Sox’ shocking fall from grace after their 2021 playoff run continues.
