After another early playoff exit, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been aggressive in making offseason moves. The team traded for star wide receiver DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks, giving the offensive attack a real boost.
But due to the addition of Metcalf, it does leave some questions about what Pittsburgh may do with another wide-out. Wide receiver George Pickens has started to draw interest from opposing teams ahead of the upcoming 2025 NFL draft.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, conversations around a trade of Pickens have taken place. Schultz does mention that the Steelers aren’t actively looking to deal the wide receiver, but talks remain fluid.
“Sources: Multiple teams have brought up #Steelers WR George Pickens in trade discussions, and he’s a name to watch this week. Pittsburgh isn’t actively shopping him, but the conversations have taken place. Pickens is entering the final year of his contract.”
Pickens has been good for the Steelers since they drafted him, but with Metcalf now in town, it leaves him open to be moved. There are plenty of teams who could use the services of Pickens, and Pittsburgh could likely get a nice package in return.

Last season, Pickens posted 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns. The wide receiver had a slightly down year compared to his 2023 season, where he put up 1,140 yards with five touchdown catches.
Pittsburgh could look to pair Pickens with Metcalf, and it would give them one of the better duos around the league. But it seems that the possibility of the team moving Pickens could be more apparent depending on what other teams may offer.
