The Baltimore Ravens have cut their longest tenured player and kicker Justin Tucker. The Ravens released the news via a statement from General Manager and Executive Vice President Eric DeCosta.
The Ravens calling this a “football decision.” Not once in the statement did it mention the multiple sexual misconduct allegations into Justin Tucker from 2012 to 2016 at local area spas by massage therapist. The statement also did not mention the NFL’s investigation into those allegations, which is still ongoing.
The 35-year-old has denied all allegations. No charges have been filed against Tucker.
Eric DeCosta’s full statement is below:
“Sometimes football decisions are incredibly difficult, and this is one of those instances. Considering our current roster, we have made the tough decision to release Justin Tucker.
Justin created many significant and unforgettable moments in Ravens history. His reliability, focus, drive, resilience and extraordinary talent made him one of the league’s best kickers for over a decade.
We are grateful for Justin’s many contributions while playing for the Ravens. We sincerely wish him and his family the very best in this next chapter of their lives.”
