The Miami Dolphins’ offensive line has been an issue for much of the past decade. Whether it’s because of Chris Grier or other decision makers, the Dolphins have been brutal on that front for much of that span.
While the unit performed better during the 2024 season, there were many ways for it to improve. The Dolphins lost Terron Armstead and others on the line, making it something they had to address during the draft and free agency.
Speaking to reporters, it was revealed that not only did the Dolphins want to get younger on the offensive line, but the team focused heavily on getting physical in that area.

“We wanted to get better at offensive line,” Grier said, per the Miami Herald. “We knew we had some older players with ‘T. Stead’ and Kendall Lamm, Isaiah Wynn moving on. So we talked about adding youth, and it just so happens that these guys are bigger players that are physical, tough kids that love football. And we haven’t shied away from looking for those types of players.”
If there’s been one issue with the offensive line and other units on the Dolphins roster over the past few years, it’s been their inability to play in cold weather. Oftentimes, the Dolphins have looked soft, and teams have taken advantage of them because of that.
That starts at the top with Grier, Mike McDaniel, and the stars on the Dolphins roster. However, if they can establish a tough offensive line, Miami will be in a much better position moving forward.
For now, it looks like Grier is doing just that for the Dolphins.
