Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones finally made the sort of move that fans have been wanting for a long time, but it did cause the team to have to drop a player to make room.
The team traded a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for star wide receiver George Pickens and a 2027 sixth-rounder.
As a result, Dallas decided to drop a wideout that they were not utilizing as a way to fit Pickens onto the 90-man roster.
The team announced that they were cutting fifth-year receiver Seth Williams to make room for Pickens. He did not make any appearances for the Cowboys, so the team seemed more than willing to part ways with him.
Williams only has one catch for 34 yards since the Denver Broncos drafted him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He had solid stats in his time Auburn, so there may be a team willing to take a chance on him.
As far as the Cowboys are concerned, they should be more than happy with how the past 24 hours have panned out. They already had one of the best wide receivers in the league in CeeDee Lamb, so adding a threat like Pickens alongside him will be scary for opposing cornerbacks.
The Cowboys missed the playoffs for the first time since 2020, so Pickens and the rest of the team will be looking to turn it around and get back to their winning ways.
