Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens rolled into SoFi Stadium and defeated Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers 30-23 in the third head-to-head meeting of the Harbaugh brothers. John Harbaugh is now 3-0 against his younger brother Jim.
Herbert helped the Chargers storm out to a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter, but it was all Baltimore from there as Jackson and the Ravens went on a 30-6 run to take a commanding 30-16 lead just over halfway through the fourth. Los Angeles found itself in the end zone in the final minute, but it was too little, too late.
After the match, the two stars met midfield for the customary postgame handshake between QB1s. Jackson and Herbert greeted each other with a hug and a few words before going their separate ways.
Jackson, the two-time NFL MVP, finished the night completing 72.7% of his 22 passing attempts for 177 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a rushing score to his final tally, his first since Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills.
Herbert, on the other hand, completed just 58.3% of his passes for 218 yards. Like Jackson, the former Oregon Ducks star also found himself in the end zone on a run, his second over the last three games.
Jackson, who won the Heisman Trophy during his time with the Louisville Cardinals, has made a strong case for a third MVP award. He has the Ravens sitting at 8-4 on the season, recording 3,053 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and only three interceptions while adding 599 rushing yards and three more scores.
Herbert, on the other hand, doesn’t quite have the same numbers as Jackson, but has his team in position to make the NFL playoffs for the first time since 2022 with a 7-4 record.
Jackson is now 3-0 in head-to-head matchups against Herbert, just as his coach is against his brother.
