Not content to leave the live music events to girlfriend Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce launched the first Kelce Jam music festival in 2023. Fans were expecting the event to return to Kansas City for a third straight year this Saturday, May 17. However, two days ahead of its scheduled opening, the festival’s organizers announced that Kelce Jam will not take place this year after all.
The Show Will Not Go On For Travis Kelce’s Kelce Jam This Year
The official page for Kelce Jam officially announced the music festival’s cancellation in a social media post Tuesday, May 13.
“Kelce Jam is planning ahead for 2026,” the post read. “Although we’ll miss being with you this year, we’re taking this time to gear up for an even bigger, better, and more unforgettable experience next summer. Stay tuned for exciting updates and announcements.”
The post concluded, “We can’t wait to celebrate you again soon.’
For the last two years, Travis Kelce has hosted the music festival at the Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas, roughly 25 miles west of the Kansas City Chiefs’ home at Arrowhead Stadium.
Last year’s event featured performances from Lil Wayne, Diplo, and 2 Chainz. Machine Gun Kelly, Tech N9ne, Rick Ross, and Loud Luxury headlined the inaugural festival in 2023.
Last month, the Kansas City Star reported that Kelce Jam 2025 was set for May 17. As of Tuesday, May 13, no performances or further details had been announced.
Swifties Speculate the Cancellation Has Something To Do With Taylor Swift
It’s a well-documented fact that Taylor Swift fans are a conspiratorial bunch. When news broke of Kelce Jam’s cancellation, many Swifties took to social media with their theories. Some took Travis Kelce’s scrapped music festival as proof that the “Anti-Hero” singer has an announcement brewing.
In 2021, Swift began the process of re-recording her first six albums following an ownership dispute with her former label, Big Machine Records. Four years later, only two re-releases remain: her eponymous 2006 debut and 2017’s Reputation.
Adding further fuel, Swift is nominated for six trophies at this year’s American Music Awards, scheduled for May 26 in Las Vegas. Many in the Swiftie community believe that’s when the “Eras” Tour star will announce either Reputation (Taylor’s Version) or the follow-up to last year’s 11th original studio album, The Tortured Poets Department.
