You rarely keep Andy Murray down for long. The tennis icon has been in the news this week following his split from Novak Djokovic, having been helping coach his former rival since the build-up to January’s Australian Open.
There seemed to be no animosity behind the break-up, with Murray later releasing a statement thanking Djokovic for the “unbelievable opportunity.” However, the Serbian has undoubtedly had a difficult season by his high standards. He’s lost his opening match in four of his past five tournaments, as well as being beaten in the Miami Open final by 19-year-old Jakub Mensik.
Murray, 38, is already back entertaining fans, though, albeit not on a tennis court. To the delight of viewers, he joined brother Jamie to take on golf content creators Alex Pye and Luke Nichols in a special 2vs2 scramble match.
Highlights of the clash were shown on the pair’s ForeBros YouTube channel, which boasts more than 200,000 subscribers. The Scot was in a jovial mood from the off, even when he was faced with a 20-foot putt at the death to try and force a third extra playoff hole.

His effort came up short, prompting Murray to shout at himself: “You’ve got to hit it you pussy.” However, he was full of laughter after the contest, and followers were left lauding his good humour.
“Definitely try to get the Murray’s on another video,” said @jamesplatt3368. “Wasn’t expecting Andy Murray to be as funny as he is. Great video.” @ElliottPringle added: “That was one of the best YouTube golf videos I’ve ever watched.”

@mrragergaming3021 praised both siblings, writing: “The Murray brothers are absolutely class! What great vibes, chemistry and banter was flowing naturally. Golf wasn’t bad either!” @Christy-k6e said: “The Murray brothers were ideal for the laid-back atmosphere, which also included some excellent golf.”
Murray has been having golf lessons since retiring from playing tennis after the 2024 Paris Olympics, including tutoring from Ryder Cup star Robert MacIntyre. He’s already down to a handicap of seven, and said at the start of the YouTube video: “The lessons have really helped.”
