To cap off an exciting Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season, John Harbaugh and the Baltimore Ravens defeated his younger brother, Jim Harbaugh, and the Los Angeles Chargers 30-23 on “Monday Night Football.”
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson added to his MVP-caliber season, completing 16-of-22 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns while adding another 15 yards and a score on the ground.
On the other hand, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert didn’t quite put up the same numbers on the box score, completing 21-of-36 passes for 218 yards to go along with 29 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Following the game, the two Harbaugh brothers met midfield for a quick greeting before parting ways. In a postgame press conference, John Harbaugh revealed what he told his little brother during that moment.
“I just told him you’re a great coach, and you have a great team,” John Harbaugh said. “And I love you. And he said, ‘I love you and congratulations.’ It was good, yeah.”
The two Harbaughs had met twice as opposing head coaches throughout their career before MNF, including Super Bowl XLVII in the 2012 NFL season. Now, John Harbaugh has moved to 3-0 against his Jim Harbaugh, showing that he has his younger sibling’s number.

With the win, John Harbaugh and Baltimore move to 8-4 on the season, good for second place in the AFC North, right behind the 8-3 Pittsburgh Steelers. They will get a matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13.
Jim Harbaugh has now seen his Chargers team fall to 7-4, with their four-game winning streak coming to an end. Even with the loss, Los Angeles still holds a playoff spot for the time being. It will get the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
