Taylor Swift is getting some professional backing after a controversial attack from President Donald Trump.
Trump took aim at the singer on social media, an unprompted attack claiming that his criticisms had taken a toll on her popularity.
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Trump has offered past remarks critical of Swift, the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.
This week’s post generated some controversy and prompted a professional organization. The American Federation of Musicians, the largest labor union representing instrumental musicians, issued a statement that called out President Trump for his criticisms both of Swift and fellow singer Bruce Springsteen.
“The American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada will not remain silent as two of our members—Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift—are singled out and personally attacked by the President of the United States,” wrote American Federation of Musicians President Tino Gagliardi.

The statement went on to praise both Swift and Springsteen for their contributions to American society.
“Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift are not just brilliant musicians, they are role models and inspirations to millions of people in the United States and across the world. Whether it’s Born in the USA or the Eras Tour, their music is timeless, impactful, and has deep cultural meaning. Musicians have the right to freedom of expression, and we stand in solidarity with all our members.”
