Earlier this week, ahead of the NFL season—which is still a few months away—it was announced that Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce would be returning this offseason to Tight End University (TEU).
TEU was founded in 2021 by NFL tight end legends George Kittle, Greg Olsen, and none other than Kelce. It is a three-day event scheduled to take place from June 23–25.
The goal is to bring tight ends from around the NFL together to learn from one another through film study, rehabilitation, recovery, and on-field drills, which is done in front of fans of football and tight ends.
Having Kelce—an historic figure at the position and arguably the greatest tight end to ever play—return is major news for the event. He’s remained a staple of TEU, which has grown every year.
Following the announcement, the New Heights podcast released its latest episode on Wednesday, featuring Travis and his brother Jason, who reacted to the news of Kelce heading back to the event—and even cracked a joke about the tight end position.
“Alrighty, Travis back at Tight End U, attending the fourth annual Tight End U in Nashville, Tennessee.”
“Yeah, a summit for the best position in football. The greatest position ever created,” Travis added. “We’ve got some fine events—not just for tight ends in the NFL, but for everybody around the Nashville area. Fans of the NFL, fans of tight ends.”
“Fans of tight ends? So, nobody?” Jason joked.
“That’s [explicit] up,” Travis replied. “You throw a ball through your legs, Jason.”
The Kelce brothers are well known for their back-and-forth arguments about the NFL, having experienced the game from two very different perspectives.
Jason made a career as one of the best centers in NFL history and was an exceptionally talented offensive lineman.

Meanwhile, Travis has spent most of his career as a tight end in a wide receiver’s frame for the Chiefs, cementing his status as an all-time great. He’s set to return for his 13th season at age 35, while Jason enters his second year of retirement after a 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles.
