Between being subpoenaed in the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni lawsuit and her recently reignited public feud with rapper Kanye West, Swift’s plate is full these days, but on Friday she was pulled back into even more controversy.
Seemingly out of nowhere, President Donald Trump put Swift on blast on social media unprompted, causing quite the social media firestorm.
“Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Trump’s remarks led to American Federation of Musicians president Tino Gagliardi releasing a strongly worded statement in response, in which he called out Trump for attacking Swift and Bruce Springsteen, who he called overrated and an “obnoxious jerk.”

“Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift are not just brilliant musicians, they are role models and inspirations to millions of people in the United States and across the world,” Gagliardi said.
“Whether it’s Born in the USA or the Eras Tour, their music is timeless, impactful, and has deep cultural meaning. Musicians have the right to freedom of expression, and we stand in solidarity with all our members.”
And while Trump’s comments riled up many on social media, it also struck a chord with Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Kelce didn’t take kindly to Trump’s diss of Swift after the Super Bowl, and his remarks on Friday reportedly had him fired up yet again.

“Travis is livid that the President of the United States is talking negatively about Taylor,” a source told the Daily Mail. “He is so mad that he is going to use it as motivation during training for the season ahead, especially if Trump continues talking.
“Since Travis can’t say anything publicly because that would just open another can of worms, he has to figure out ways to get it out of his system because he would love to protect Taylor and stick up for her. But keeping quiet is the move he has to do right now.”
Trump’s public treatment of Swift is a stark contrast to that of Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who he has publicly stated on multiple occasions he’s a fan of.
Brittany supported Trump during last year’s election while Swift endorsed his opponent Kamal Harris, and Trump has taken jabs at Swift ever since.
