After being drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round this year, quarterback Quinn Ewers signed a rookie deal with the team worth about $4.3 million over four years.
Now, he’s adding to his income. The rookie recently announced an exclusive autograph trading card deal with Panini, and according to a report, the deal is worth $3 million.
“Ewers announced on Friday that he signed an exclusive autograph trading-card deal with Panini,” wrote NFL insider Mike Florio. “Per a source with knowledge of the arrangement, it’s a $3 million deal.”
Between his rookie contract and the deal with Panini, Ewers is now in line to make over $7 million, and that’s in addition to anything else he may have going on.
Although Ewers didn’t come off the board until the seventh round, he plays a premium position, which certainly helps him from a recognition perspective. What also helps him is the fact that he became very well-known in college during his time playing for the University of Texas at Austin.
Ewers spent three seasons at Texas and helped the program reach the College Football Playoff in both the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. This past season, Ewers helped Texas win two games in the 12-team playoff before the Longhorns were eliminated in the semifinal round.
Across 14 games in the 2024 season, the quarterback completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 3,472 yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
With the Dolphins, he’s expected to play some type of backup role (perhaps as the team’s No. 3 quarterback this season) behind franchise star Tua Tagovailoa. Miami learned last season how important it is to have capable options behind Tagovailoa, so Ewers will look to provide some extra stability and insurance at the position.
If he’s forced into action any point in his rookie season, he’ll look to hold down the fort for a Dolphins team that is trying to return to the playoffs after falling short last season. Miami is facing some pressure going into the new season since its current core has failed to yield a playoff win, and some fans are starting to get restless about when the drought will end.
The Dolphins will open their campaign on Sept. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts as part of an early-season stretch that should be pretty manageable for the team.
