After rumors suggested that Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is selling his home, some have questioned if he will be traded. While that’s likely him just testing the market and looking to live somewhere else, or potentially selling one of his likely multiple homes, it’s added some intrigue to the Dolphins’ offseason.

In a recent article from Alec Sanner of Sporting News, he suggested that the New Orleans Saints might be able to trade for him after this news.

He added that the Saints should trade for him as they won’t be one of the worst teams in the NFL next season and likely won’t be bad enough to have the top pick to select Arch Manning.

“After finding out about Derek Carr’s retirement plans, the Saints not only regained over 30 million dollars in cap space over the next two years, but they also have a gaping hole at quarterback. With seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel, Arch Manning would be the obvious idea, and that is only if the Saints got the number one overall pick to secure that chance…

“If you’re going to be bad, then be bad. But if there is an inkling that the Saints won’t be bad enough to get Arch, then you have to think about the best available for the market. New Orleans is going to end up paying someone a lot of money anyway, and Tua is a very good quarterback,” he wrote.

Tagovailoa is a good quarterback, but it’s also important to factor in the money that he’s currently making. For a Saints team that’s been in a brutal cap situation over the past few years, adding the 27-year-old might not make much sense.

He’s only in the second year of his four-year, $212 million deal. Do the Saints really want that?
