After traveling the world for nearly two years performing her record-breaking “Eras Tour,” Taylor Swift is taking a break from spotlight.
Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, have scarcely been seen in public together since Super Bowl LIX, however, they’re “still very much together and in love” a source told US Weekly.
While Kelce is preparing to return for his 13th season in the NFL, fans can only wonder what Swift has been up to over the past several months.
Is she working on a new album or is the 14-time Grammy winner planning to release either “Reputation: Taylor’s Version,” or the “Taylor’s Version” of her 2006 self-titled debut album?
Fans seemed to get a huge hint after the song, “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” debuted on Monday’s night’s episode of “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
While the Hulu series posted a lengthly clip of the re-recorded song from on X, the video was deleted after Universal Music Group, Swift’s exclusive worldwide recording partner, posted the snippet and made an announcement about “Reputation (Taylor’s Version).”
UMG posted, “The first taste of “Reputation (Taylor’s Verson)’ has arrived. @taylorswift13’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version) made its debut in the latest episode of @HandmaidsonHulu 🐍.”
After UMG confirmed that the new version of song that premiered on “The Handmaid’s Tale” was officially the first track from “Reputation (Taylor’s Version),” they deleted the post, which immediately caused a stir.
One fan posted, “and they deleted it ? WHAT IS GOING ON.” One person commented, “It’s gone from UMG now too… what is happening.”
Another fan wrote, “Dear @taylornation, Kindly please explain the LWYMMD Snippet that Handmaid’s Tale and UMG accounts posted! Thank you and have a great ssssssnakey day! Best Regards, Swifties.”
While it’s unclear when Swift will drop the re-recording over 2019 album, fan conspiracies theories dominated social media.
With six days before the 2025 American Music Awards, where Swift is up for six awards, “Look What You Made Me Do,” being the sixth track off the original album, and the new version premiering on the sixth season of the Hulu drama, some fans guessed an official release announcement will happen on May 26.
