Dak Prescott suffered a brutal injury during the 2024 NFL season, tearing his hamstring off the bone in a Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback was ruled out for the remainder of the season, undergoing surgery to repair the issue on Nov. 13.

Now almost six months later, Prescott has made significant strides in his recovery process.

Prescott hasn’t been cleared for full contact, but he is participating in the Cowboys’ voluntary offseason workouts. The veteran signal caller announced a notable injury update during his media availability on Tuesday.

“Pretty much can do it all. Feel good,” Prescott said. “Yeah, I think I’m just not cleared for contact, which we’ve got a while for that anyways. Yeah, I’m out there in the team activities. Feel good. Just trying to stay that way. Yeah, feeling great.”

“People say a lot of things about me, man,” he continued. “I just show up and control what I can control [to get] healthy. Trying to stay healthy. Feels good. Yeah, just trying to push the energy and make sure I continue to get better.”

Fans took to social media to react to this encouraging update.

“Just hope he stays healthy this season, but we’re off to a good start,” one wrote.

“MY KING HAS RETURNED!!!!” another said.

“Happy for dak and I know he will be fine i just hope he isn’t pushing a quick return causing an injury or even tweaking it again,” another added.

“Am I behind? No,” Prescott said. “Left the [2024] season early. I mean [expletive] it, I was hurt. Excuse me. My offseason started way earlier. Sorry for the language, but my offseason started way earlier, so that’s really essentially why I’m ahead, on top of working with director of rehabilitation Britt [Brown], working with this training staff.”

Prescott and the Cowboys will begin their 2025 regular-season NFL schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sep. 4.
