After experiencing early defeats in Monte Carlo and Madrid, Novak Djokovic seeks his first clay wins of the season at the ATP 250 event in Geneva.
The Serb is chasing momentum and confidence ahead of Roland Garros, admitting his poor form and a challenging position ahead of the second Major event of the season.
Despite the struggle, the 24-time Major winner feels motivated to regain his form, starting with as many matches as possible in Geneva. Novak’s first rival is Marton Fucsovics in the second round.
Novak’s form may be on decline, but his mind remains fresh. The veteran, who turns 38 on Thursday, still wants to win every tournament he enters, despite already conquering every notable crown of our sport.
The Serb feeds his ambition with dedicated hours on the practice court. He is happy with his progress during the previous three weeks and aims to shift that drive to the official matches.

The Geneva Open could be Novak’s springboard or a wake-up call, as he continues to push for more history in the twilight of his legendary career.
“I’m still seeking my first victory on clay this season following early losses in Monte Carlo and Madrid. I’m not in an ideal situation ahead of Roland Garros.

However, I’m motivated to play as many matches as possible in Geneva and regain my form. I am ambitious to win every tournament I enter, and that has not changed.
I’m aware my level is not very high at the moment, but I keep working. I prepared well in the previous two or three weeks, and I’m confident in my abilities. I hope to make a winning start and see how far I can go,” Novak Djokovic said.
