FRISCO — Last season unraveled in several ways for the Dallas Cowboys. At the core of their issues their roster simply was not good enough to compete in a loaded NFC, more specifically the NFC East.

Injuries made that situation worse with a number of key players dropping out of the lineup throughout the season. The injury bug showed no mercy to Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons or CeeDee Lamb.

The duo of Prescott and Lamb both had their incidents arise in Week 9 when the team lost to the Atlanta Falcons. Prescott left the game with a hamstring injury that would end his season while Lamb hurt his shoulder.

Dallas’ No. 1 receiver tried to gut it out despite multiple aggravations of the injury. Ultimately, a final blow in Week 16 would end his season.

His display of toughness was certainly admirable but has also contributed to what has been an extensive recovery and rehab, as he told Schuyler Dixon of the Associated Press.

“The longest [rehab]. I want to say a good five months of real recovery and rehab…I don’t know. I’m grateful to have two arms. I can tell you that.”

Shoulder injuries must be treated with caution when it comes to receivers and it appears the Cowboys and Lamb have been careful going about this process. Dallas wants their star receiver back and ready to go come training camp.

This is the first time Lamb has participated in any offseason programs in two years as he held out for a contract through the summer a year ago. Fortunately, there will be none of those off-field distractions for Lamb this time around.

Recovery and all, No. 88 is grateful to be back where he belongs. The Cowboys should share those feelings as well, gearing up for a bounce-back campaign in 2025.
