Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, ESPN analyst Jason Kelce, continue to drop new episodes of their “New Heights” podcast through the offseason.
Over the past several weeks, the Kelce brothers invited a slew of star-studded guests on the show including two-time Oscar winner Ben Affleck.
After hosting a rare in-person episode featuring NFL analysts Ryan Fitzpatrick and Andrew Whitworth. Donna Kelce joined the show for a special Mother’s Day episode.
“New Heights” announced on May 27 that Wayne Gretzky is joining the show this week. In a preview clip, Jason described Gretzky as “one of the favorite athletes of all time for both of us. This is a true honor.”
The retired Philadelphia Eagles center delivered an extra-long intro for “The Great One.”
“Fifteen-time NHL All-Star, nine-time NHL MVP, 10-time scoring champion, four-time Stanley Cup Champion,” Jason gushed. “He still holds the record for most points and assists in a career, most goals, assists, and points in a single season, and nearly 60 other NHL records.”
While Gretzky is undeniably one of the greatest hockey players of all time, and numerous fans were excited over the announcement, many viewers couldn’t help but express disappointment over the decision.
With Trump trying to annex Canada into the 51st state through 25% tariffs, many fans feel dismayed by the Ontario-native. One fan commented on Instagram, “YUCK!! Canadians are out on this one..🤢😠 Normally I love you guys but not this one.”

One X user added, “A couple of years ago this would’ve been huge. He sold his country out to buddy up with trump and his cronies. No thanks.” One woman posted, “No. Just no. Disappointing. Signed a life long Canadian. Read the room.”
Another fan wrote, “I’ll be skipping this weeks show but see you next week. I don’t handle Trump sympathizers regardless of their sports accomplishment.”
