THE Miami Dolphins could choose to move on from Tua Tagovailoa in the near future.
The former first-round NFL Draft pick has struggled to stay on the field for the Dolphins after signing an extension.

Tagovailoa was rewarded with a massive contract extension after a spectacular 2023 season.
However, his concussion problems returned in 2024, and Tua only played 11 games.
The problem is, the Dolphins already guaranteed a huge chunk of money to the quarterback.
His contract initially guaranteed $93.71 million at signing, and another $54 million converted to full guarantees earlier this year.
Depending on how 2025 goes, Tagovailoa might not see it to the end of his contract.
His guarantees run through 2026, and his contract is meant to run through 2028.
However, if Tua doesn’t stay healthy and the Dolphins fail to make the playoffs again, the team could opt to start fresh.
Tua’s contract is designed to make it easier for the Dolphins to rebuild as well.
Only $3 million of his contract is guaranteed in 2027.
The 2025 season is Tua’s shot to show the Dolphins that he can be their franchise quarterback.
If he doesn’t show up, that’s likely the end of his time in Miami.
Fans have mixed opinions about whether or not Tua is up for the challenge, and shared their thoughts on social media.
“He has a great deal of pressure on him but I think he will deliver,” one fan said.
“I say he’s done. I’d put money on it,” another fan said.
“He is gone! He can’t stay healthy number 1 and secondly he is top 15ish QB at his best,” a third fan said.
“Neither he nor the coach is the problem,” a fourth fan said.
“Not happening,” a fifth fan said.
The Dolphins have made the playoffs twice in Tua’s tenure, losing in the first round each time.
