Ryan Yarbrough is leaving behind every bit of himself that takes the pitcher back to his Los Angeles Dodgers days.
The now New York Yankees star will receive his World Series ring this weekend.
Yarbrough, who pitched for the Dodgers last season before being designated for assignment in July, is taking a thoughtful approach to the ring.
Despite it being his first World Series ring, he’s chosen to keep things low-key since the Yankees lost to the Dodgers in the Fall Classic. They finished with a tough 4-1 series loss.
During a recent chat with the folks at Foul Territory, he shared his plans about what he would do with the ring.
“Whenever I signed here, I was like, ‘I will stash that thing away so fast.’ And you know, maybe look at it later or something. But, you know, I definitely can’t bring that thing around, for sure,” Yarbrough said.
Yarbrough made it clear that he’s more than happy to show the ring to any curious teammates. However, it is not in a way that brings back painful memories of last year’s outcome.
