On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox promoted first base/third base prospect Blaze Jordan to Triple-A, according to Christopher Smith of MassLive.

The right-handed hitter had arguably the best month of his professional career in May. He slashed .390/.490/.671 for the entire month, which certainly helped him get the call to Triple-A. Jordan is slashing .320/.415/.513 on the season with 11 doubles and six home runs. He’s driven in 37 runs and scored 30 more. All of those numbers lead to Worcester.

The 22-year-old has also stolen three bases and has a greatly improved eye at the plate. He’s drawn 22 walks (four more than he did in all of 2024) and only struck out 19 times.

Jordan has gotten himself into phenomenal shape and has become a fantastic defensive first baseman. That just so happens to be a position of need for the Red Sox.

It will be interesting to see where they go from here. Jordan should get a hefty majority of the time at first base in Worcester. He is their best in-house option at a fix for the position. Not only could he potentially help them in 2025, but Jordan could be the answer at first for the next 15 years if it works out.

Jordan’s power has started to flash more. All six of his home runs came in May. He’s always shown the ability to consistently hit the ball hard, but it appears he’s getting more loft, creating more home runs.

Some fans were quick to write Jordan off. He seems like he’s been around forever due to his name recognition. Before even being drafted, Jordan was known in the baseball world for hitting some absolutely ridiculous home runs. Due to that, fans might have expected him to enter minor league baseball and mash. However, there was a slight adjustment period, which is totally normal.

Jordan has gotten himself into shape, improved his defense, improved his discipline at the plate, and become a well-rounded prospect. Now, we get to see him one step away from the majors.
