The Miami Dolphins’ recent news has almost all concerned the future of a one Jalen Ramsey, who seems to be set to be traded any day, now that we are past the crucial date of June 1st.
However, speaking at OTAs on Tuesday, Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel, gave some non-Jalen Ramsey related news.
News that pertained positively to what will perhaps be one of the more watched Dolphins units this offseason – the offensive line.
McDaniel relayed to reporters that right tackle, Austin Jackson, will be ready for training camp.
“If there’s a more ready version of him, I’m super excited to see it”, McDaniel said to the media, regarding Jackson’s health.

Improvement would seem to be the obvious priority on the O-line. The additions of interior offensive linemen, James Daniels, and rookie second round pick, Jonah Savaiinaea will – the Dolphins hope – have a stabilizing effect on what has been a rocky unit for the team over the past year or two.
PFSN ranked Miami’s line at 27th out of 32, good for sixth worst in the league, even with their offseason additions. So the announcement that Jackson will be ready for training camp and presumably good to go for the start of the regular season should be music to Dolphins’ fans ears.
Perhaps the greater question, however, comes at left tackle, where second year pro, Patrick Paul will be tasked with finding a way to keep Tua Tagovailoa’s pocket clean as the former Alabama man attempts to stay on the field after battling numerous injuries since entering the pros back in 2020.
