Aaron Rodgers finally ended his free agent off-season by signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday.  The move was long expected, but because it was taking so long many started to wonder if it would ever happen.

However, now that the four-time MVP is officially a Steeler, some of his opinions are going viral.

Aaron Rodgers’ Opinion Of Donald Trump Goes Viral After Signing With Steelers

On Friday, US President Donald Trump invited Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph to the stage. However, that isn’t where the story ended:

Trump praised the longtime Steelers backup (outside a poor 2024 stint with the Tennessee Titans, Rudolph is the Steelers’ primary #2 since 2018, amid the team’s current standoff with free agent Aaron Rodgers. And Trump backed him as the Steelers’ starter.

“I happen to think a really good quarterback is a man named Mason Rudolph,” Trump said of the Pittsburgh quarterback. “I think he’s going to get a big shot. He’s tall, he’s handsome, he’s got a great arm, and I have a feeling he’s going to be the guy.” It came just days after Tom Brady’s private message to Shedeur Sanders was revealed.

Rodgers, once considered a serious choice to be Robert F. Kennedy’s vice presidential pick, has both praised and picked at Trump at various points.

“Trump, okay, Trump’s an outsider, all the rhetoric, we’re going to drain a swamp and go after the corruption. And I don’t think a lot happened,” Rodgers said on a 2024 appearance on the ‘Look Into It’ podcast.

“And what I fault him for is Tony Fauci, because he is an establishment pharmacrat since he got in, and he’s been in forever, and he’s the highest paid government official. And he let, and not only did Trump push the vaccine, Operation Warp Speed, or whatever the [heck] it was, but he let Fauci stay in charge and shut the country down,” he continued.

Rodgers is coming off a much better season than Rudolph, having completed 63.0% of his passes for 3,897 yards with a 28-11 touchdown-interception ratio for the 5-12 New York Jets.

Rudolph went 1-4 across five starts and eight appearances with the Titans last year, completing 64.0% of his passes for 1,530 yards and a 9-9 touchdown-interception ratio.

“It’s great to be back,” Rudolph said earlier this week at OTAs. “I’m excited. A lot of familiar faces. I don’t need to make any handshakes here. I know most of the media. They’re all good people.”

Simultaneously, he’s aware of the Rodgers-related chatter. “That’s nothing new to me. There’s been constant noise,” Rudolph added. “That is the nature of the NFL. So I am used to that for a long time. Now I’m doing nothing but being the best I can be to help our team get better this spring.”
