Red Sox Pitcher’s Wild Behavior Caught on Camera During Rays Game

The Boston Red Sox shepherded in the Roman Anthony era on Monday, calling up baseball’s top overall prospect to complete the ‘Big 3’ of Anthony, Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell.

That was all the talk at Fenway as the Red Sox took on the Rays in the first game of a three-game set. Brayan Bello pitched into the seventh inning, giving up three runs to lower his ERA to 3.91.

One pitcher who didn’t have such a nice night was lefty Brennan Bernandino, who gave up two runs in just 1/3 innings which included a wild pitch.

Following his rough outing, Bernandino went into a full windup and fired his glove into the dugout in a display of anger.

Bernandino, who had a 0.71 ERA in an MLB-leading 16 appearances in May, has an 18.00 ERA in three innings across four appearances in June.

Bernandino could be overworked, or hitters could be seeing him better, but his ERA has ballooned from 1.52 on May 31 to 3.38 after tonight’s disaster.

The veteran lefty spoke to his flexibility in May, saying: “My role is whenever they call my name, just try to go get the job done… I think there’s value in that.”

However, after coming off a defiant series victory in the Bronx against the Yankees, pitching struggles back at Fenway certainly isn’t how Bernandino or anyone in the organization drew it up.
