Taylor Swift has taken precautionary legal action amid growing concern for her safety.
The 35-year-old superstar has secured a temporary restraining order against a man who trespassed at her Los Angeles home and claimed that she is his child’s mother. The filing also highlights an escalating pattern of delusion and potential danger, with stalkers sadly a regularity for celebrities of her stature.
According to the documents filed on June 9, the individual – identified as Brian Jason Wagner – first visited Swift’s residence in 2024, and reappeared this May carrying a glass bottle.
Swift’s filing states clearly that Wagner’s assertions – of being her romantic partner or fathering her child – are “entirely untrue and disconnected from reality.”
She affirmed, “I have no relationship with Mr. Wagner and I have never met nor communicated with him,” adding that she has a “fear of imminent harm.”
Troubling behavior triggers legal action
Wagner’s behavior extended beyond a single visit. Authorities discovered that he attempted to list Swift’s address on his driver’s license and even tried redirecting her mail.
He also sent menacing emails to her staff. Adding to the concern, the filing states that Wagner has criminal history and previously wrote letters from jail, professing obsessive infatuation and false claims about Swift.
Swift’s security team was alerted after Wagner showed up multiple times, including once while carrying what could be used as a weapon. His repeated presence, combined with the fabricated claims, prompted the request for legal protection. A judge granted the temporary restraining order on June 9; it remains in place through June 30.
Swift’s conservator move is sadly not unheard of. Over the years, she has encountered multiple stalkers including a man arrested in New York in early 2024 and another detained in Germany while attempting to enter one of her tour locations. A similar restraining order case earlier involved a man boarding Swift’s Eras Tour concert, leading to his arrest. These recurring threats highlight a pattern of increasingly bold stalking incidents, underscoring the inherent risks of international fame.
