AL MVP favorite Aaron Judge mashed a solo homer over Fenway Park’s Green Monster in the top of the ninth inning to tie it 1-1 and spoil the hurler’s chance for a complete-game shutout.
The score stayed that way until the 10th, when Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu knocked a borderline foul ball down the first base line. Manager Aaron Boone came out to argue the call and threw his gum before he got tossed, and LeMahieu got his first career ejection when he said something to first base umpire Jeremie Rehak after grounding out.
The 15th-year veteran revealed what he said postgame, via Newsday’s Erik Boland.

The Red Sox won in the bottom of the frame thanks to catcher Carlos Narvaez’s walk-off single.
New York had a three-game winning streak entering Friday thanks to its sweep of the Kansas City Royals. Before that, Boston won two out of three contests at Yankee Stadium.
The Red Sox now lead the season series 3-1, but the Yankees are still 8.5 games ahead of them in the AL East. New York is 4.5 games in front of the Toronto Blue Jays for first place, while Boston sits in fourth.
Yankees southpaw Ryan Yarbrough tossed 4.2 innings of one-run ball on Friday, and the rest of the bullpen held up before fellow southpaw Tim Hill gave up the walk-off hit to Narvaez.
