The Dallas Cowboys faced a division rival on Thanksgiving day. They were fortunate to get a matchup against a two-win New York Giants team.
Despite the Cowboys’ early-season struggles, they came away with a second-straight win against an NFC East opponent and in general, defeating the Giants 27-20.
Dallas led 27-10 through three quarters. A 10-0 third quarter from the Giants made the game appear closer than it was, however.
Current Cowboys starting quarterback Cooper Rush completed 21 of his 36 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown. It was the squad’s defensive effort against the Giants and quarterback Drew Lock that helped them to a big victory.
Lock completed 21 of his 32 passes for 178 yards. He threw an interception and fumbled the ball once. He did have success on the ground, though, putting up 57 yards on four carries. His touchdown came on the ground as well.
After the primetime victory, Cowboys superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons had a quick message for fans across the NFL.
“We coming,” Parsons said.
Parsons finished the game with three tackles and 1.5 sacks. The Cowboys, as a whole, registered six sacks in the game. They were essential in shutting down New York’s passing game.
Dallas improved to 5-7 on the season after two straight wins, and they just logged their first win in the AT&T Stadium on the season.
The Cowboys are certainly finding their footing to an extent, though a win over a two-win Giants team isn’t all that impressive. They’ve been bad, though, so any win is a good win, just as their recent win over the Washington Commanders was.
It’s hard to imagine Dallas has great potential on the season already having seven losses. If they can continue to make noise in the NFC, though, they aren’t exactly out of the race.
