Tyler Herro has been a confident figure in the Miami Heat dressing room since he was drafted in 2019. He seemed to have the same trust and belief from an early age, as seen in a resurfaced video.

The former Kentucky Wildcats guard fast-tracked his way into the NBA after just one year in college. This unwavering confidence was for all to see in a video of an 11-year-old Herro recording himself handling a basketball.

The video has already garnered over 1 million views, where Herro said:

“I’m the best player in Wisconsin right here baby. Shoots the lights out. Dribble like Rajon Rondo. 30 points, that’s what I do. Let’s go play some basketball, You’re gonna be stunned, your balls are gonna fall off.”

The video then turns into a freestyle routine as Tyler was seen doing crossovers with both hands and from behind his back as he showed his handling skills. The video ends abruptly, but regardless of it, it showcased the importance of dreams and how one can fulfill them when you put in all the effort in the world.

Tyler Herro is living his dream amid an All-Star-caliber season

Achieving almost everything he said he would in the video, whether it be scoring 30 points or having handles like Rondo, Tyler Herro is living the dream. The Miami Heat guard has been exceptional for his team this season and continues to develop his game further.

The only player alongside Bam Adebayo to start 16 games this season for the Miami Heat, Tyler Herro is currently averaging 23.6 points per game, alongside 5.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists.

These numbers could see him make his maiden All-Star appearance as the 24-year-old plays his sixth season in the NBA. With a career-high 40 points against the Detroit Pistons on Nov. 12, Herro has scored in double digits in all his appearances this season.

If Herro can continue his good form, the Heat have a chance of improving from their lackluster showing in last season’s playoffs. Miami is currently fifth in the East with a 9-8 record.
