The Black Friday game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders had a few questionable calls, but they won’t go unnoticed when they endanger a player’s safety. Many NFL fans are furious with the refs and Chiefs lineman Trey Smith.
A recent clip of a play during the second quarter is going viral. In it, a Raiders defender is “speared in the back” by Smith.
Many social media users call out Smith and the refs for not protecting every player’s safety and helping the Chiefs.
“Gotta protect Mahomes. That’s how they’ve won those Superbowls. The woke NFL has to challenge the whole “Tom Brady is the GOAT” narrative..,” said one comment.
“They need to get refs off the field and do it all from cameras. This is getting to be too much. Or just give everyone the script at this point,” said another.
“Chiefs getting away with everything is making the nfl unwatchable. Does any other team have a chance at this point?” continued a third about Smith’s block.
“Ya I saw this live and was waiting for the flag. JOKE,” another wrote.
“Trey Smith looking to decapitate a Raiders here my goodness lmao,” another said..
“this is honestly getting annoying, the refs have never favored a team this much,” added a fan.
“That’s okay, it happened near Patrick,” another concluded.
Of course, though, it’s not as if this block by Smith completely changed the game.
Trey Smith Is In His Fourth Year
Smith was originally a sixth-round pick by the Chiefs in 2021 and has become a full-time starter on the offensive line.
This season, he has been on the field for 100% of the Chief’s offensive snaps and has not been below 96% in any of his seasons.
Smith has also kept the penalties to a minimum, with just two holding calls all year.
