The Baltimore Ravens are once again having a great season.  Through their first 13 games they sit at 8-5, second in the AFC North, and right in the middle of the AFC Playoff picture.  Heading into their bye week, however, they had some fairly surprising news to report.

There has been a lot of success for the Baltimore Ravens this season. Although they are 2nd in the AFC North, they are 8-5 and have a solid chance of making the playoffs. Additionally, they traded for wide receiver Diontae Johnson to bolster their roster.

The trade, however, may quickly turn into a blemish on the season since Johnson was suspended for one game for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

We have made the difficult decision to suspend Diontae Johnson for our upcoming game against the New York Giants for conduct detrimental to the team,” GM Eric DeCosta said in a statement. “Diontae’s suspension stems from refusing to enter our game against the Philadelphia Eagles. We will have no further comments on this matter going forward.”

This ‘conduct’ is reportedly Johnson’s refusal to attend the Ravens’ game last week, when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Of course, the score ended at 19-24, as the offense struggled to get into any real rhythm, and having a receiver like Johnson in the game can change everything.

Johnson was expected to improve Baltimore’s passing game immediately when he was traded.

Since joining the team, he has had almost no impact on the team’s performance.

Only five targets, one reception, and six yards have been recorded by Johnson so far this season.

He’s a free agent at the end of the season and has not positioned himself to win a big contract.
