Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift might have a lot of critics, but comedian Billy Eichner isn’t one of them.

Eichner, who is known for “Billy on the Street,” revealed on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show that he ran into Kelce and Swift at the 2024 Oscars afterparty. While at the party, the “Bros” actor was greeted by Kelce. The All-Pro tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs told Eichner that he was a huge fan of his work, albeit he got the name of the segment wrong.

“All of a sudden, I feel a very strong, bro-y pat on my back,” Eichner said. “In a very loud, booming voice, in a house full of the most famous people in the world, Travis Kelce looks at me and goes, ‘Jimmy on the [expltive] Street! I love you, man!’ He’s beaming, he’s so happy to see me. He said it with such confidence that I could not bring myself to correct him.”

Eichner then said Kelce kept fist-bumping him throughout the night as if they were longtime friends.

“He’s Travis Kelce. He’s huge. He’s standing there with Taylor Swift. I didn’t know what to do. And then, throughout the night, he kept seeing me. We kept, like, crisscrossing each other, and he kept fist-bumping me. Now, I don’t want to stereotype gay men, but I don’t ordinarily communicate via fist bump, but I kept doing it.”

Eichner wrapped up his story by saying his interaction with Kelce was “lovely.”

It certainly sounds like Eichner and Kelce had an instant connection at the Oscars afterparty. That’s a testament to both celebrities and their willingness to let loose.

Kelce has proven over the years that he knows how to handle the spotlight. That’s a good thing, because now that he’s with Swift the are always countless eyes on him at all times.
