Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has made plenty of new connections throughout pop culture in the past year since he began dating superstar singer Taylor Swift in 2023. Now, it seems he has even made new connections in the sports world.
WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark, who was named TIME Magazine’s Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, recently detailed an interaction with Kelce in her cover story.
Last month, the Indiana Fever star attended Swift’s “Eras Tour” show in Indianapolis. Expecting many fans to be focused on Swift, Clark said she received plenty of love from concert attendees.
At the show, Clark also had the chance to meet Swift’s mother, as well as Kelce, who recently gave her high praise on an episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
(Caitlin’s) awesome. She loves being out there in Indianapolis,” said Kelce. “We’re both just true Midwesterners to the heart. You know, played high school ball, college ball, pro ball, all out here in the Midwest, so it was cool catching up with her.”
After the show, Clark said she was gifted four bags of tour merchandise and a note from Swift herself, calling her “inspiring.” In the note, Swift also extended an invitation to come to a Chiefs game with her, as Clark is a fan of Kansas City.
While Clark has yet to attend a Chiefs game with Swift, it’s certainly something that could come in the near future with the “Eras Tour” officially wrapped up.
